Voters in the Ed-Co and Maquoketa Valley school districts will head to the polls today.

Ed-Co is asking voters to vote on a $12.55 million bond issue. Superintendent Rob Busch said the bond will support the district in several key areas.

Busch explains how the bond will affect Ed-Co school district ratepayers if approved.

He says this proposed project has been in the works for six years now.

A 60% supermajority is needed for the Ed-Co bond issue to pass.

Today in the Maquoketa Valley School District, voters will choose whether or not to renew their Physical Facilities and Equipment Levy (PPEL). Superintendent Dave Hoeger:

MV voters will also vote to fill a vacancy on the school board. Crew member Rick Bojorquez recently left the district and Pam Overman is the only candidate on the ballot to take his place.

The Independence Community School District will also vote on a PPEL referendum today. And the Anamosa School District is asking voters to approve $16 million to build, furnish, and equip an additional high school gymnasium, along with a walking track, locker rooms, and concessions, as well as parking and parking. other improvements.
